Changes begin with yourself – this is the motto of Ketevan Jvania-Tyson, the Co-Founder and Trainer at ID Insitute (International Institute of Development). ID Institute is a personal development oriented platform of courses and masterclasses, aiming at development of society with numerous educational programs and services.
Ketevan started coaching in 1993 - in this period of time it was an unusual and rare field for Georgia’s reality. Within 10 years she has been planning and implementing a number of self-developing programs. She worked at the youth centers in Strasbourg and Budapest as an invited coach in 2000-2003.
Then there was a 10-year pause in her career as she moved to the USA. In 2013 she came back to Georgia and started working at the youth centre “Mziani Sakhli”. As for the business trainings, Ketevan started conducting them since 2015. The training involves working on the team building and development of the soft skills.
“The biggest setback in my career there was that 10 years I’ve spent in the USA. On the one hand, I’ve studied at the university there and it was a bold step for my self-development, but on the contrary, after graduating the university I came back to Georgia and nobody knew me’’- says Ketevan.
As for education, Ketevan has graduated from Georgian State Technical University of Physical Education and Sport. In the USA she mastered sociology and gender at Florida University. Later, in 2014 Ketevan completed the course at Erickson International Coaching University.
She regrets not being active in the USA as a trainer and not working on establishing herself in the professional circles there. Instead, today she has big plans and believes that she, as a woman, can be a role model of how we can transform ourselves and in this way change the society around us.
“In order to advance in any business, it is necessary to be among like-minded people, to meet more experienced and successful ones, to share their experience, to ask them for mentorship. In the business federation "Women for the Future" I will meet women who will be my inspiration and from whom I can learn a lot in order to become more successful and to benefit more people," Ketevan reckons.
