The woman full of pre-defined plans and goals – this is how Keta Japaridze, the member of the business association “Women for Tomorrow,” sees herself. She represents the non-governmental organization “Democracy Index Sakartvelo” in the business federation.

After completing the searching stage, she knows exactly where to go and what to do in the upcoming years. Before, there was public service and scientific work. Now, she continues her career in civil society, focusing on such fundamental issues as the monitoring of the judicial and legislative authorities.

Keta Japaridze is a board member of “Democracy Index Sakartvelo” and works on judicial issues mainly. The organization has just begun a new project with The USAID Rule of Law Program. The aim is to determine main reasons for the delay of disputes in Georgian courts. It creates severe problems for individuals and legal entities in Georgia and negatively affects the country’s image.

Keta Japaridze is a lawyer by profession. For a while, she was devoted to scientific field and gained a doctor of law degree. Her working experience is connected to her profession: during years 2004-05 , Keta worked as a lawyer in the law office; She became a senior specialist of the National Oil Company “Saknavtobi” Legal Department in 2006. She has a working experience in the Parliament of Georgia: in 2018-2019, she was a leading specialist of the Legal Issues Committee.

She is interested in gender issues. Her doctoral thesis addresses this topic: "Personal and property relations of parents and children“. She raises many essential topics in her work:

How well the alimony covers the expenses necessary for the child? How are women's rights ensured after the divorce, considering that they had devoted years to the professional advancement of their husbands and family while sacrificing their own career?

“Economic independence is the most important thing for women in order to develop themselves. There is the need for law amendments to this direction,”- states Keta Japaridze and plans to put the issue forward through the platform of the business federation.
