A career that started as a hotel hostess and evolved into creating a successful company in the hospitality field—this is Maya Makhatadze’s story in a nutshell, which is both extensive and interesting.
Maya is the founder and director of the hotel management company Radar, established one year ago. Radar is positioned in the market as a brand hospitality space.
Radar operates in two main directions: first, the company manages the entire process from the ground up to the opening of a hotel. Soon, they will launch a new webpage that will serve as an assistant for the HORECA sector.
The company is constantly growing, and the Radar team has already gained valuable working experience. Each completed project marks another success for them. Of course, there are failures too, but the team always addresses and fixes them.
Maya has 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector. Initially, she worked at the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel. Within a few years, she progressed through every level. In recent years, Maya worked as a GM in various hotels. After gaining extensive experience, she decided to take her career to the next level and start her own business.
She gained her education at Tbilisi State University, and she studied abroad to improve her competence in hospitality.
She believes it’s important to have the right imagination for how to reach the goal and not be scared of the barriers you will face during the process. Maya thinks that the experience and knowledge of the field are also crucial.
It’s critical to activate the role of women in the economy to strengthen the country. Her aim in joining the Business Federation Women for Tomorrow is to empower women by gaining them new skills.
